The quick development of computer technology in recent years has truly effected Statistics as a modern scientific discipline. Computer technology has offered new opportunities and the Department of Statistics has made a great effort in providing its students and staff with up to date software and hardware.

Within the Santa Caterina campus, two computer laboratories are open for individual study and for classes. Each lab houses powerful machines, running the latest  software, suitable for every aspect of statistical analysis. 

All students attending the Department of Statistics have free access to the computer labs. 

Please note that foreign exchange students are not allowed to the computer rooms until they register at the Department Erasmus Office.

A crew of specialized technicians supervise the labs and are always there to support students and teachers. They refer to the so called ASID - Aula e Servizi Informatici per la Didattica and are responsible for the two main computer labs on campus:

 ASID room (it may be divided in two working areas: ASID28 and ASID32; it hosts 60 machines);

 Aula Tesisti (17 machines).

All machines have a double O.S.: Windows XP and Linux.
